One Day It’ll All Add Up… Creativity Explored

Where does creativity come from? Out of our pain and sorrow? Out of triumph and joy?

When do you find you are most creative and able to produce art?

I ponder these ideas as I watch my teenage daughter write lyrics to a new song… every day. Yes, every day.

I’m reminded of the season in college where I wrote 2 – 3 new poems… every day. Without fail.

And then I remember my year of 365 images and stories. It felt exhausting and liberating, exciting and laborious, but I made it happen.

So what is the key… how does it all add up to something inspired and inspiring to share with the world? That’s what I want to know.

What’s your take on it?

Check out this new song while you ponder those things… (lyrics below)

Falling farther
Don’t you bother
coming to rescue me.
Used to the experience
I’ve fallen so frequently.

Time for grief and time for sorrow
here today and gone tomorrow
nothing last forever
almost nothing lasts forever

(Chorus)
As I run and trip and fall
And cry again because I fail
I disappoint but despite it all
this won’t last forever
one day, one day
it’ll all add up and change

a time for grief
still time for smiles
one day soon, in no long while
I’ll find my way past it all

Moving faster, gaining interest
money for my long investments
small at first
but stayed consistent
one day it’ll all add up

(Chorus)

(Bridge 2x)
one step, two steps
falling off the edge
falling farther don’t you bother
I know this won’t last forever

(Chorus)
