CreativeLIVE Photo Shoot Day 1 (D326)

If you didn’t already know, I’m in Seattle for the David duChemin Vision Driven Photography workshop being put on by CreativeLIVE. It’s been an absolutely astounding experience so far. Yesterday evening we went out on a photo shoot with mountain biking models and our fearless leader.

Below are some of my favorite images from the shoot… notice that most of the them are of fellow photographers rather than mountain bikers. I really gravitate toward capturing moments, emotion and people.

If you’re not watching this, you’ve got one more night and day to tune in for some amazing information, insight, and inspiration… and we’ve still got one LONG day left!

If you’re watching the broadcast, tell me what you’ve learned, what you want to learn, and what you think so far!!!

Ummm, just wanted to say these photos are AWESOME! Really digging the BMX ones :)

I love the way David encourages photographers to move outside the box, to say “what if…?” and to not be so focused on just the technical aspect and finished product. The visual journal is a wonderful idea. It's been a very encouraging and motivating class.

Great work Tasra! I've been watching (all of 1st day and 1/2 of second) – I'm loving the process of finding and delving into out vision.Way to go with getting the billion dollar answer to your question. I'm learning to question what I'm trying to do with a shot and how I want to capture it to convey the emotion or feeling I envision.

  • Judy

Love the ones with the bike.

Absolutely love the second biker shot… really shows the grit and work of mountain biking!

I watch the entire class and thought it was a great exercise in examining of the “Why” a photo was shot! I've spent the better part of the last two years learning the technical (and still have a way to go!) and now it's time work on the intention! I love that David made it clear that we should give ourselves the “grace to fail”.

Glad you got to go and hope you got what you wanted out of it!

Me too! It was an amazing experience.

I was pleased with how they came out… wasn't sure how I would do with
mountain biking action, but got into it as we went along on the shoot.

You may have to remind me what the billion dollar answer was… it was hard
to take notes, engage, and listen all at the same time. Can't wait to watch
it so I can hear his responses to my questions again.

Absolutely! He did such an amazing job encouraging all of us to be more
creative, free, and open to art and what it can do to transform us and those
    who see our work.

Thanks so much! Who knew I could shoot BMX bikes?
