Dear Mommy, I’m Sorry I Dropped Your Computer (D275)

Sometimes, the image speaks for itself. His expression coupled with the sign… how would you respond?

tasra365 dropped computer Dear Mommy, Im Sorry I Dropped Your Computer (D275)It’s true. He was watching a movie on my computer and knocked the table over. My MacBook Pro fell to the ground and now has a dent in the smooth silver top near the Apple. If you know anything about me, you know I like to take care of my stuff… even after I read a book, it still looks brand new… I sometimes wait months before writing in a new journal because I don’t want to mess it up… I kept my computer in the original packaging for a long time and didn’t have any dents after 18 months… until now.

Oh well… now I need to find a good cover for my laptop so I don’t have to be reminded that it’s no longer pristine. I just keep reminding myself that people are more important than things. My little one’s response… “It’s okay… it still works.”

I refuse to take a picture of the dent… somehow it feels like that will make it real. If I never close the top again, I won’t have to look at it. I think I’m still in denial.

Oh how sweet. I hope you gave the litttle fellow a hug. Sorry about your laptop hun and I think he is too.

He is a sweetheart. It was an honest mistake and he and daddy made the sign together to apologize… I'll live. :-)

I'm like that with a lot of my things too. It's funny the relief I feel when I stumble upon another book nerd like me. I almost feel like I'm breaking someone's fingers or doing something terrible if I crease a book while reading it. I'm getting over it. Slowly. And then there are times I just go nutty and put stickers all over everything or paint it. It's one extreme or the other with me.

I love that… my bff (a prof of Victorian lit, no less) is the same way. It's so funny because she's probably the only person I can loan a book to without having to emphasize how to take care of it. When someone borrows it and messes it up, I just let them keep it! I think I go crazy with certain things, like stamping or scrapbooking, but not with my books. :-)

I had to laugh when I read this. I'm exactly the same … down to the not writing in a new journal 'cause I'm afraid of messing it up. What a sweet thing he did though.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I know what you mean about a pristine MacBook Pro. I carried mine around in the box in the plastic for several weeks event though I had a nice neoprene case. I just didn't want the smell to war off! Anyway, you are so right that people are more important than things, but that only goes to how you respond to him in love. The reality is, at least in my household, that if the MacBook Pro dies, the business dies. And if the business dies, the people don't eat. So there's that.

But I'm glad the computer survived with just a dent. It could have been worse. The computer could have broken. Or your son could have been hurt. Or, both! Egads!

He's so cute, I'd probably laugh through my tears! (Did remind me to go vote though).
I broke my own computer 2 weeks ago!
Tried to carry it in the house with other stuff, partly open, dogs went baying out the door and the lid closed on the other stuff. Aaaghh!
I now have an even more expensive MBP with a new screen. :P The outside was already Kitty protected from me with a Speck cover.
Good luck finding a cover you like. My girls love their books & my daughter Lizzy the Psy loves her Revolver! :)
