Miss Suwanee 2010 Pageant had a rockstar in the house. Complete with lights, loud music and… crayons.
Yep, my son the rockstar.
Getting Warmed Up
Before the pageant started, I simply asked him to pose for me so I could check my background and lights…. get the camera warmed up. Since the music was blaring and he somehow found a set of 4 crayons, he converted those crayons into a microphone and was off in his own world (at least until he noticed a couple older kids were watching him). What a blast to see him have so much fun and be free in front of the camera. I love that I get to experience and capture these moments for all of us to remember.
Changing the World
As for the Miss Suwanee pageant, what an event! It was the brainchild of a pair of teen girls who needed to come up with a business to raise $150 for Relay for Life. They decided to create and host a pageant that brought in over 100 contestants from wee babes to grandmas. In total, they raised nearly $5000 and they are giving it all to charity. Evidence that one (or two) people with an idea really can change the world.
Moving Down
I’ve got a TON of photos to process and I’m telling you these girls were adorable! You know the primary focus of my professional photography is teen girls through Teen Identity Portraits and Magazine, but after today I might have to start adding more younger girls to the mix. I had such a ball with the younger girls and they are so cute trying to pose. It’s an entirely different ball game! More to come in the next couple weeks.
