Have you ever photographed a pageant before? I haven’t yet. Tomorrow will be the first.
Since the Miss Suwanee pageant is part of the Gwinnett Relay for Life event that took place today, they’re doing things a little different. The contestants range in age from newborn to grandmothers and they aren’t wearing typical pageant gowns either. Just blue jeans and t-shirts for this crowd. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes. It’s the first year of the pageant and my first time photographing a pageant, so we’re going to work out the kinks as we go.
In preparation for this event, Mother’s Day and next week’s Teen Identity Extravaganza, I finally got myself to the salon for a much needed haircut. I love my stylist… she does with a pair of scissors (and razor blade) what I do with the camera… make your clients feel better than they did before they came to see you. We’re really in the same business, just different tools. Never thought of it that way until I walked out of the salon feeling like a new person.
