Staying On Track and Veering Off Course (D213)

Quick and dirty progress report of where I am on this journey to 300% photographic improvement…

  • Staying on track: 213 days of taking a photo a day and studying/learning from others professional images
  • Veering off course: camera manual reading has been a struggle for a couple weeks… getting back on track
  • Where I’m headed: taking the lessons and discipline learned from this project 365 and Dane Sanders Fast Track Roadshow the last few days to make some transformations in my business, vision and life.

YOUR TURN: Take stock of where you are and where you’re headed. I’d love to read YOUR progress report in the comments!

Today for the first time ever I saw an image I wanted to create. I work in the marketing department at a community college as a graphic designer. I've art directed before, but never behind the camera.

I'd like to work towards more photography and my boss is more than willing to let me give it a try.

Maybe today was the first real step.

Fantastic! What a breakthrough. I'll bet now that you've seen the first one, you'll begin to see even more! When are you going to make it happen?

I admire your discipline to take a photo a day. Not only that, to read from the manual to improve your understanding from a technical perspective. Congratulations on your amazing success. I know what it's like to have to struggle to keep a commitment to read a chapter or whatever. But I rest in the fact that I have “off” days and that sometimes, I just need a break from doing something in particular over and over again in consecutive 24 hours periods. When I take a break, I always resume with renewed enthusiasm, and I always make up for the lost time. Always. You'll do the same. Loving your blog!

Yes indeed. Without off days, we wouldn't celebrate and appreciate our on days nearly as much. And we wouldn't have the added bonus of connecting with colleagues to keep us going through the ups and downs.
