That’s how it worked for Dijea Coplin, our Feature Friday photographer. A little over a week ago, Dijea tweeted this:

ANNOUNCEMENT! One of my 365 photos being used in ad campaign. So excited.

Two days later, she shared the exciting news that her image had been chosen as the top banner for a local website:

Look here’s the ad my picture is in on the web…http://tinyurl.com/ya6zwwa The top banner. WooHoo!

Now that is one exciting development from joining a 365 photography project. The amazing thing is that it’s a common occurrence. Of the over 400 photographers we’ve had join the tasra365 project in the last six months, we’ve had news of  images being featured in newspapers, on magazine covers, winning contests online and in print and being chosen for ad campaigns. Not bad for six months. Just imagine where we’ll be at the end of this challenge!

Here’s Dijea to share more about her journey as a photographer:

My father sparked my interest in photography before I hit my teens. He is a very talented artist with an excellent eye and has been extremely helpful, complimentary and constructive when I need it.
I took on this 365 challenge to see where it led my creativity.  My goal is not only to improve my photography, but to capture more than just a moment, to tell a story or evoke an emotional response. I’ve learned a lot about what I like, what I don’t and how to experiment to learn more.

One of my photos was recently added to an online tourist guide for a local attraction and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’ve photographed houses for real estate brochures, which has taught me more about space than anyone or anything. I love casual candid party pics and while I love people, I much prefer nature and landscape photography.

You can do more than improve your photography or capture moments, you can tell a story and evoke an emotional response. It’s possible. It’s probable. I’d even venture to say that it’s GUARANTEED!

Special thanks to Dijea for sharing her story and congratulations on her success!
