MY FAVORITE IMAGE
When Color Inc contacted me about receiving a sample canvas and giving one away, I was thrilled and sent them my favorite Teen Identity group shot. They worked with the custom size of my image and added a black border so that the girls faces wouldn’t get cut off on the sides. It now hangs in my front entryway so everyone can see it when they stop by to visit! And you probably already saw that my girls loved it!

This is Day 177 of tasra365. If you haven’t already joined the nearly 400 other photographers in the challenge, now is a great time. Today I reviewed images in the photography book Camera Creative and read camera manual page 52.

I would have my photo of my son in the snow wrapped because it shows how cold it was with his very expressive face

  • kameeknu

I would get a photo of my three year old nephew and his new 3 week old brother done. I was there for the birth because my sister's husband is deployed with the Navy. He was supposed to be home in time to meet his newest son but got extended and now will not return home until Baby Matthew is 3 months old!! I think a gallery wrapped canvas of his two boys hanging on the wall would be a great way to cherish the moments he unavoidably had to miss :(

I would totally keep it for myself! So far then handful of canvas prints I've ever had made have been sold to others. I just can't afford to keep one! I'm also happily looking for the best canvas printer out there. I've used two others (nameless in this comment) that do well but nobody has blown me away yet. Is it Color Inc. that will do that for me? I hope so. I have a new photo of Comet Falls in Mt. Rainier National Park that would look amazing on canvas.

Oh I know exactly what image I would pick. I've had this image on my list to put on canvas. It's a photo of my daughter. Every year on her birthday I take one really speical photo of her. This past birthday (her 23) everything came together perfectly and the photo was and is amazing. I've had so many commits about it. Especially from my mom. She is in first stages of Alzheimers and has been waiting for me to make a print of my daughters photo. So I would definately give it to my mom.

I would use image for which I got the most praise http://www.maletic.org/photography/architecture… and give it to neighbour family overseas who cared for my mother while I was a continent away. Good people. (Going there on 3/31).

At first there were some more abstract shots I would do- because it would be cool to see some of the more artistic / abstracted photos on canvas- as if they were paintings. But then as i was thinking of what would be something really cool to see as a creative work; i couldn’t think of anything i’m more proud of then the our new baby Bethany. To see kids as a creative work from God i think is most fitting- because people are creations and beautiful and deserve to be seen as creative works as well. So, with that said, I would probably do something like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevejohman/4287618154/ or http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevejohman/4312522894/in/set-72157623080323145/

I would have it in her room of course- for her.

Thanks Tasra for all you do with sharing and caring! You’re group portrait is AMAZING! Love how you do these teen identity portraits!
I think I would choose (dare I say this??) one of my OWN family portraits if it was chosen. As a photographer I have to BEG my teenagers to let me take a family portrait every year and usually, the shoot ends in me crying! lol. This year, they actually all cooperated for the most part, and I haevb some decent shots of my large family. Now,what to do with them??
her is the link to our family photo:

I have never ordered a canvas for myself and do not have any hanging in my home office/studio area. I feel kinda selfish even thinking about ordering one for personal use…why??? when I want all my clients to?? I’m a dork!

I have a photo of my kids that I took a couple of years ago for my hubby for Father's Day. The kids are holding up a picture frame, framing themselves, and the lush summer colors surrounding them just pop! I've always wanted to have it made into a canvas!

  • michellebondy

It would be an image of my two girls. My 5 year old has autism and never used to acknowledge her little sister. Within the past year she not only acknowledges her, but hugs, kisses and plays with her. Little sister LOVES her big sister and the attention she now gets. I can also take pictures of them together now! I would obviously keep it for myself and love it.

Thank you for the contest, Tasra! I would LOVE to put one of my favorite pictures of my kids up on canvas. I have a black/white that I adore of my daughter with her head in my son's lap and laughing as they sat in a beanbag chair. It's one of my favorite pics in the world…

  • emilyku

I woud turn one of my nature pics into a canvas and gift it to my aunt who has lived in the same house for almost 20 years but has not one single piece of artwork on her walls! It would really cheer up her living room.

I have a photo from the Hoover Dam that a friend of mine absolutely loves. She is a painter with many art prints and various things hanging on her wall. The photo is of two of the towers in the lake. My friend thinks it's a powerful, artsy photo. I would have that photo wrapped and would give it to her to hang and display in her home.

  • Dana

I would keep it for me! My husband returned from Iraq (his 3rd tour to Iraq and 7th deployment in 12 years.) and I have a wonderful picture of my kids hugging him with all their might. It's been hard to have him deployed so many times but the reunions are so sweet that a canvas would be a great way to remember the reunions when he has to be gone.

As much as I would love to put one of my girls on canvas for our home I would gift this to my good friend who is due early April with her 3rd child. A girl. I would love to see that little girl on a big canvas :)

  • sandybuller

I would donate the canvas wrap of one of my photos that shows an artist working with under privileged high school students on a large African motif mural, and then have the canvas framed and auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the non-profit group that I am currently documenting.

  • patrickfarrington

I would print a photo I took of some friends' two young daughters that I took a year ago. It was one of my favorites during the session, I knew looking at the LCD that I had something special, and because I loved it so much I spent a lot of time working in Photoshop to turn it into something even more special. I gave the mother some small prints but always wanted to present her with something much larger.

I would have one of our wedding photos done. We don't have a really nice wedding photo hanging anywhere. I would give it to my husband for our 5th anniversary coming up soon.

  • brianpalmer

I would have a photo from a wedding we did last year wrapped and sent to the couple, they were so cool that we all because good friends during the process. When they recently had their first child we even got a text about it. If I didn't use a wedding picture I'd drive out to their house (they are out of State) and do a portrait session and give them a wrap of their favorite image.

I would use a photo of my two year-old daughter that I took last summer in Chicago. She was standing on the beach holding her big brother's hand, and it looked so sweet. I would put it up in her room.

  • Suzanne Jackson

I would have my photo of my six-month old grandson, Alexander, doing his Hulk impression. He had open-heart surgery when he was a week old, and he developed this behavior on his on. From fragile to ferocious! I would love to keep it for myself because Alexander's dad is in the Air Force and Alexander will be moving overseas.

    Hi Tasra,
I would choose to gallery wrap a photo I recently captured of my 8 year old daughter Sophie… Months ago I bought a bright green scarf and had a vision! – I wanted the famous National Geographic Afghan Girl feel. My daughter has the eyes and last week the moment was right… I got her and I captured it just like I envisioned.. I tiled it EYES OF THE FUTURE.. I turned it into a black and white. I love it, everyone loves it. So I would like to have a large Gallery Wrap of it to have in my home and to show future clients.
    Thank you! :)

I love your blog! I love reading your posts! Thank you for sharing of yourself. I would print an image that I have of my kids walking through a park hugging. It is the cutest thing and a moment that I constantly need to draw on when they are in the midst of their sibling battles. Besides that, I think it is a pretty good capture.

I would love to win this, as would everyone else. I can't tell you why I deserve to win, I am not that kind of person. It makes me uncomfortable to open up like that. I feel like I am begging somehow. I know it is not begging and I am certainly not thinking what the others is doing is begging at all, I do not mean to offend. It is just how I feel about me doing something like that. I guess I feel I don't deserve this in some way. So why am I writing this? Because I also feel that I do deserve this just as much as the other people writing on this. I love photography, I always have. I got distracted by love and raising a family so I never started my own business like I dreamed. I know it is not too late. I can't right now for other reasons. Money, health, health and health being the biggest. I have some photos that I would/do want to get gallery wrapped and I would use it to start my business by showing it in a gallery my friend owns. It would be a step, a baby step in the right direction. A direction I have been wanting to go in for 26 years.
I love photography. I am passionate about photography.
Thank you for your website and what you do. You are inspiring to me and many people. :)

I would choose the image of the little boy I worked with while volunteering in South Africa. He is such an inspiration to me and the image helps me remember the poverty I saw while there. He was the sweetest little boy in the group of children we taught. He didn't talk much, and I would always try to get him to say anything. In the middle of our time there one day while walking to a pick up soccer game happening on the streets of one of the slum areas, he grabbed my hand and looked up at me and smiled. He instantly stole my heart. The final day when we were making our tearful goodbyes, I tried to hold it together. The kids kept asking us to take them with us and repeatedly wondered out loud when we were coming back to them. Then this little boy ran up and gave me the biggest hug. I immediately started sobbing. I knew I wouldn't be able to afford to come back anytime soon. Not soon enough for them to remember me.

Africa changed my life. I have this image framed in a 16×20; however, having a large gallery wrap would help to do it justice. I also now know I am not the only one who loves it because of my connection, because this piece won best of show in our university level student art show.

What an amazing experience! Thank you so much for sharing it. And how
fantastic that you have an image of it to remind you. You should definitely
