A Man’s Best Friend is Not a Dog—Husband Project Day 2
It’s true ladies (and men). Or maybe it would be better if I said a man’s best friend shouldn’t be a dog… if he’s married it should be his wife. That’s what Kathi Lipp, author of The Husband Project says.
A Little FUN
Many husbands, mine included, end up giving up or seriously limiting time and attention they once devoted to their favorite hobbies or pastimes. There are some exceptions, to be sure. And it’s not to minimize all the hobbies or even just girl time that wives often give up as well. But, this IS the Husband Project, not the wife project.
“Lust is easy. Love is hard. Like is most important.” ~ Carl Reiner
So what does your husband like to do? When was the last time you actually offered to join him in that activity? Some activities lend themselves to joint participation, but consider how you might make his day by going to sit with him while he watches the game, or reads his favorite magazine. Imagine how surprised he would be if you did a little research on his favorite hobby and engaged in conversation with him about it instead of just tolerating the conversation.
A Little LOST
Tonight I’ll be sitting down to watch LOST with my husband. He loves watching his favorite shows with me and then talking about and analyzing the show afterward. So that will be my gift to him tonight. Of course it’s a bonus since I already like the show!
But, I’m not stopping there. I was introduced to a swing club in metro Atlanta by a commenter on the blog and I am definitely going to take my husband out dancing. So I’ve got this challenge doubly covered!
How about you? How are you going to accept this challenge to join him in something HE loves?
