Unclutter Your Life in One Week – Part 7: CD/DVD Media Storage

Tasra Dawson —  January 26, 2010 — 21 Comments

We made it through the Unclutter Your Life in One Week challenge… and survived! Can you believe it? What a journey and so many new friends on the unlcuttering journey. So here’s where we stand…

  1. Make sure to enter all 7 book giveaways… winners will be chosen and announced here on Jan. 31 so make sure to check back then. (You can subscribe to the RSS feed to make sure you don’t miss it!)
  2. Stay tuned for more tips and tricks from the uncluttering process… I didn’t get my entire life uncluttered in one week—a lot, but not all. And there are a few rooms and spaces that didn’t make the video. So I’ll be blogging with before and after photos of those. Make sure to check back later this week.
  3. Would an Unclutter Your Business series be helpful? I’ve been thinking of doing a series of videos or articles about how to unclutter your job or home business and am wondering if that might be helpful to you or someone you know. If I get enough positive response in the comments, on Facebook and on Twitter, we’ll make it happen.

Today’s episode is all about media storage. Living with a filmmaker husband and songwriting daughter, these are two areas of our home that have been overflowing and cluttered for quite some time. You’ll have to watch the video to see how my husband convinced me not to get rid of all the DVD cases and compile them in one or two binders. I did however, have my way with the CD organization system… ask for forgiveness, not permission, was my strategy on that one!

If you’ve just found this series, make sure to start at the beginning and enter each day for a FREE copy of Unclutter Your Life in One Week. Unclutter Your Life in One Week – Part 7: CD/DVD Media Storage

I'm LOVING the uncluttering series!! More videos for “your life” and a series on unclutter your business would be VERY helpful!!! Thanks Tasra, you've inspired me to unclutter – I've made some good progress this week. (Which makes my hubby very happy too! :-)

Thanks Lain! I would love to do a business series too, but need to get a donation from Neat Receipts for their desktop scanner before I tackle the paper monster that is a small business!

This idea hasn't sense because it's a too uncomfortable and not ecologic way. You should use a NAS server (1 or 2 TB hard disk, better if a RAID system) for manage your media files. You can rip all your audio cd (with iTunes) and video dvd (with Shrink) and play them with a cheap computer connected to a NAS server. No cd/dvd and all your disks will still new. Sorry for my bad english. I'm italian. I'm from Palermo, Sicily (Italy). Ciao !!!
