How to Unclutter Your Life in One Week – Part 4: The Bathroom & Linen Closet

You are hilarious. Yes, I’m talking to you… my blog readers, Twitter followers, and Facebook friends. With your comments about being too afraid to watch the video to the queen of post it notes, you are making me laugh!

So today, I’m going to make you laugh. Seriously. You know what a clean freak I am right? Well, in this episode my hands get a little bit dirty… and we’re in the bathroom… enough said. Just watch it… and laugh. (Sidenote: no laughing at my math skills – or lack thereof!)

You can also see a few BEFORE images below of the bathroom and linen closets that didn’t make the cut in the video, but have been seriously transformed now! Yes, I wrote that correctly… I had two linen closets before. Now I only have 1 and it’s not even full! The last shot is the uncluttered linen closet now. And please remember this is uncluttering, not decorating. So I’m not saying this is the most gorgeous, creative linen closet you’ve ever seen. What I am saying is that I can find what I need and I cleared space in an entire closet for something else!

Thank you for doing the video series on uncluttering in one week. I am trying to get my house organized and it has been an overwhelming and frustrating process. After watching the videos, I feel like there is hope! I also enjoy your website--so creative and interesting. If possible, I would like to know where to get the plastic boxes that you use for storing makeup. I found something similar but the drawers don't come out. Thank you!
  • This is revolutionary stuff! I was decluttering earlier this morning. DUST EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! I need to continue watching...

Excellent job of clearly explaining with your funky sense of humor! Erin's website sent this to us in her blog and I really enjoyed watching your application of her book. WELL DONE! The most important thing I did learn was the distinction between uncluttering, decorating and organizing..and that it is a way of life ..never really done, just continual process of maintaining this.

    You are so darned cute!
  • Ok how cute first off, is your little hair diddle (that's what we call them in my house!) I need a close up and I need to know how you organize those things that need to be displayed because they're so pretty but are a little akward to store (if that makes sense).
Second I washed my hands twice while watching this...I couldn't help it!

Is this what you have in mind for a soap holder? http://ellieshandmadesoap.com/accessories.php They also have a wooden soap holder, which I think you could find at Pier 1 or Cost Plus World Market.
  • That's great and definitely along the lines of what I was thinking, but does the bottom pot then get all gooey?
  • So inspiring! Thanks for doing this series, I LOVE IT! So today I think I will get started on my bathroom ;)
  • Yay! I want to see before and after pics!
