unclutter your life cover How to Unclutter Your Life in One Week – Part 3: Mail, Paper & More I am thrilled and delighted by the amazing response I’ve received on the first two episodes in the Unclutter Your Life in One Week How to Unclutter Your Life in One Week – Part 3: Mail, Paper & More video series. From Twitter to Facebook, blog comments to emails, your words and transformations absolutely make it all worthwhile!

I think one of the best responses I heard today was from @dijea whose hubby was so thrilled with her uncluttered office that he made her dinner! Now if that isn’t incentive enough to get on the uncluttering bandwagon, I don’t know what is!

If you didn’t see Episode 1: Uncluttering Your Closet and Drawers, check it out now and find out how to enter the first book giveaway.

Then comment on Episode 2: Unclutter Your Desk & Office for a second chance to win. And keep reading for your THIRD chance to win!

Today’s episode is a life-altering one for our family – it’s the Reception Station. What?!? I know you may be wondering what in the world I’m talking about, but raise your hand if you’ve ever misplaced your keys, wallet or purse. Hands raised if you meant to return something to the mall, library, or video store, but didn’t remember to bring it with you. Keep those hands up if you bought something new that broke a few weeks later, but despite searching you couldn’t find the receipt or warranty. Shall I keep going?

That is why you need a reception station. And that’s why we created one. It is unbelievable…you just gotta watch.

If you’ve just found this series, make sure to start at the beginning…

Ok, I am a crazy, insane, coupon clipper….and I get LOADS of FREE offers….well….let me tell you I have lost out on so many free goodies because I am, uhhhhh….. PAPER WORK CHALLENGED??? Yeah, more like so cluttered and disorganized that I miss these wonderful treats. The worst part is I work so hard to get them and try to save money for my family's grocery budget that, to me, it's like losing money…..sigh. Thank God it's not REAL money…but….it still stinks!!!

I love it. Thanks for your honesty. I'm telling you that's part of the reason I stopped using coupons. I'd spend all this time going through the paper or circulars, clip and organize, then never use them. Seemed like more of a waste of my time than anything! I used to be so diligent but I had to realize it just wasn't happening anymore.

Good luck getting that organized and decluttered!

Thanks for sharing! Let's see a time where I misplaced something…I am always putting things away and my husband always thinks that I have misplaced his stuff (receipts, papers, mail, etc.) ! I usually either put it away in a drawer or oops I throw the stuff away that he thinks he needs. My son right now has misplaced his nintendo dsi and his ipod nano! Yup, we can't find them anywhere! So maybe we need a place to put all the small electronics!

I wish I had gotten those key hooks a long time ago b/c my toddler would hide my keys and everything else in her ride-on Clifford the Dog toy. It took a while to catch on that if there was something I couldn't find, to check Clifford! But it seemed keys were her favorite to steal. I never liked keeping them in my purse, that was hard enough to dig through, so we just left our keys on the table by the door, where they always got swiped! And of course realizing once I'm in the car I can't find my keys any where, I end up in a frantic search through the house, afraid of being late, etc.
Yes, now we have a key holder with incoming/outgoing mail slots! :)

Tasra, I recently (last week!) was cleaning up and uncluttering my counter/desk in my home office and found a check for a retainer for a wedding of $500 from end of Septmeber! Now, most of my clients call or email to see if I have received their check or contract, but this one obviously doesn't balance her checkbook either (I am so bad at that!)
Your little series here has motivated me to keep on going throughout the house with unlcuttering and getting the kids invloved. My youngest son at 15 is constantly misplacing his phone and house key, but has recently decided to keep them in the same holding spot at all times when not in use. Thanks Tasra!
