Discovering Shoot From the Hip Photography (D151)

Two weeks ago I wrote about how to get killer street shot photographs. In that article, I introduced you to Joe Wigfall, winner of the WNYC Street Shots Challenge, a contest where everyday people who take photos of people and places in NY are asked to submit their best photos.

Today his inspiring and challenging interview went live on F-Stop Beyond, so I thought I’d revisit the topic of street shots while hanging out at the mall.

Check out the interview where Joe talks about how he does “shoot from the hip” photography, his philosophy on being a photographer and artist, what it was like growing up in Harlem, and he of course tells us about his experience with the WNYC contest.
