D98: How to Preserve Holiday Memories

D98: How to Preserve Holiday Memories

Earlier this week I captured an image of a Christmas candle I’ve had since elementary school. In that post, I mentioned the importance of preserving those priceless memories that have become attached to different items or elements of our holiday.

Today I decided to shoot some images of ornaments that hold meaning for me. I started by looking at the tree and seeing which ornaments sparked memories and emotion for me. Then I positioned them where I could grab a shot.

I shot five tonight and plan to do a few more throughout the holiday season. Hopefully by the time we pack up the ornaments at the end of the year I’ll have captured all of the holiday elements that are near and dear to my heart.

Are you capturing and preserving holiday memories? If not, there’s no time like the present to get started!

Images: Looked at a collection of tilt shift images tonight. Absolutely fascinating. Have you ever used a tilt shift?

That is a wonderful idea. And yes, tilt shift images are fascinating. A tilt shift app is going to be my next iphone app purchase.

I didn't know they had a tilt shift app. I'll have to look it up. If you find one you like, let me know!

Thank you! I've had this ornament since I was very young. In fact I don't remember it ever not being on our tree. My mom had a whole set of these little wooden doll ornaments and I loved them. She gave them to me years ago when she started decorating her tree more fancy!

Just looked at those tilt-shift images you shared in your link. Wow! I've never used one myself, though.
