D96: Love Letters

I’ve moved more times than I can remember in my life…over 30 at least. Part of the result of all that moving is a subtle restlessness that requires change. I always get the itch to change things at about a year. And it’s been almost a year since our family moved to the South.

So that’s what I did this week. One of the wonderful results of rearranging is stumbling upon things that were forgotten or lost. This time I discovered a stack of cards my husband wrote to me starting last December and continuing through January. It was part of a commitment he made through a seminar we attended last year at this time. He was going to start showing and giving me more expressions of his love and writing love letters was one way to do that. I think I got 30 cards over the course of two months!

Discovering the stack reminded me of that time and I wanted to find a way to display them, so I found a ribbon and tied them together. Processed in Adobe Lightroom to give it a vintage look and feel. Now it reminds me of stacks of letters I sometimes see in old movies. Now they’re sitting out on my dresser. And since I’ve been thinking about preserving sentimental things, I decided to capture an image of the stack so that I could remember that time.
