It’s hard to follow images taken of the cityscape in Manhattan. That’s the challenge I faced today. How could I compete? How would my image compare?
I was asking the wrong questions. But they do reveal a common problem I face: competition and comparison. I mentioned it earlier in this challenge.
How do you not fall prey to the tendency to compare, even to your own previous work? I’m not sure I have an answer. Do you?

For today, I just tried to ignore the sense that I somehow had to produce a “better” image every day. As long as I’m fulfilling the challenge requirements, I’m good. And that’s all there is to it. So I set out to find something to shoot in my neighborhood. Didn’t have to look far as this one lone flower was growing next to our mailbox. If you look closely, you’ll see it has a visitor near its center. You just never know what is lurking in your own front yard!
Manual: Page 29—Using Camera Menus. Only 1/2 page of info there. Showing how to navigate menus and select items. What are you learning from your camera manual?
Images: Looked at more images from Gabe McClintock of PerspectivEye. He posted images from a recent wedding at a villa in the hills of Tuscany so I had to check them out. Such a stunning location for a wedding.
