Tomorrow is a big day. Ron Dawson turns …. oh, never mind the number. But it’s his birthday! Since I’ll be on a plane leaving town tomorrow, I decided to take him out for dinner and a movie. I’d already taken some images in the backyard of the tall trees and changing colors of the leaves earlier, so I decided to leave my camera at home and just enjoy the date. I also wanted to try out Chase Jarvis’ Best Camera App so I planned on snapping a few iPhone pics. Today’s image is chosen from one of those.
We were just sitting at the “authentic NY” pizza place (in Atlanta) waiting for our order when I decided to capture a shot of our shoes. Why? Why not. Someone suggested taking shots of shoes and feet as one of the daily images. Once taken, I took it into the Best Camera app and applied a couple filters. I will say that it actually looked better on my phone than it does blown up to 800 pixels wide. Not a huge surprise, but good to know. And one more shot just for fun.
I will say just two final things:
1. Today marks the beginning of month 2 in improving my photography 300%.
2. When Scott Bourne issued the challenge, he specifically said that the daily photo was to be taken with my professional camera (not my iPhone). I can see both sides: Chase Jarvis’ “best camera is the one with you” philosophy, as well as Scott’s point about learning the camera you’re using professionally. For this challenge, I will continue taking daily images with my professional camera, but like today, may post non-pc’s for the blog. Sound good?
Manual: Decided to read page 131—Specifications continued. This is page 3 of the specs I’ve reviewed now. Guess I’ll just keep reviewing them until I’m done. Good info to know and better to get it out of the way now rather than later.
Images: Wanted to go to the Atlanta PUG meeting tonight because Sean and Mel McClellan were speaking, but already had plans. So I did the next best thing and checked out the McLellan’s work online. One of the statements used to describe them was intriguing: “Sean and Mel decided several years back that there would be no excuses. No excuses for not being able to succeed, for not being able to get the clients they wanted, and for not being able to deliver above and beyond in every situation.” Great philosophy!
