D27: The Evidence

D27: The Evidence

Earlier today I tweeted this: House soon to be overrun with teen girls planning launch of Teen Identity Magazine. I love my job! http://bit.ly/FBTIP

This image is the evidence. An empty bowl of candy wrappers, some brightly colored pens, and utter excitement about the future of Teen Identity Magazine. I snapped a lot of images today and decided this one told the story best.

Yes, it’s true. I had nine teen girls descend on my living room today and we planned articles, fashion features, photo shoots, and a Facebook fan contest. These girls are so full of energy and ideas about this project that I feel absolutely honored to be their fearless leader. We’re scheduled to launch a preview magazine in November and a website/blog in October, so we’re meeting every other week to check the progress of each girl and their part in the production. Teen Identity Magazine is an extension of Teen Identity Portraits and something I knew I wanted to make happen from the beginning of my photography company.

The mission: provide teen girls with a positive magazine that is uplifting, empowering and encouraging. A magazine that doesn’t objectify or over-sexualize teen girls and gives them a forum to express their fears, hopes and dreams.

The goal: unleash the true beauty in every teen girl. Equip and empower them to find their voice and achieve their dreams.

What do you think? Wanna get involved or know a person or company who would? Send me a tweet or Facebook message. Would love to hear from you.

Manual: Page 62—Printing Photographs. Instructions on how to print directly from your camera to a printer. Didn’t know I had the capability to do that, but don’t really know why I would want to. I rarely print my own photos anyway. About the only time I print my own is to make a few prints to send to my Grandma in Hawaii. Do you print your own pics? If so, what do you use them for?

Images: Looked at more images on Chase Jarvis’ Best Camera site again. I’m going to buy the app either tonight or tomorrow. I just love how easy it is to add filters and share iPhone images. Have any of you purchased the app yet? Thoughts?

I've bought the Best Camera app, it is pretty good for what it does. I'm planing on using my iPhone a lot in my own 365, as I really don't want to be hulking my DSLR with me all day. I have also been loving the work of this guy http://iphonelomo.com/ hes using the iPhone to do a kind of lomography, hich it seems to excell at.

Tasra, I bought the iPone app last week and have tried to use it daily. I ahve posted a couple of iPhone shots on my 365 Challenge, and had felt like I was cheating, but after reeading about Chase's book, app and website, I decided that maybe it wasn't cheating. Maybe it was using the right tool at the right time. I like the app and at 2.99 I found it quite the bargain compared to other iPhone camera apps I've bought.

It is awesome that you are launching such a great magazine for teens. They need to know we can't all be a size 2!

Just got it myself yesterday. Had a few user error issues, but think I'm
getting the hang of it now. Enjoy!
