Day 7: Breathing Life Back into Your Dreams

Our truest life is when we are in our dreams awake. —Henry David Thoreau

I got an email yesterday with the subject: "I think it's synchronicity…" The sender was talking about this one month to live challenge and my newsletter from last week. Her message not only inspired and spurred me on in this daily challenge, but it was another reminder that when we are acting out of our hearts and responding to what calls deeply to us, that is the place where dreams are lived…a place where we find our true selves becoming fully awake and alive.

Have you seen moments of synchronicity this week? Times when you heard or read the same message in more than one place? Did you sit up and listen? Those are sacred moments, my friend. I hope you're listening.

I feel like the past seven days have been a string of those moments. From the book I'm reading, to the posts I'm writing, to emails I'm receiving, and even to the message I heard today in church.

Here's the bottom line…
Wake up. Come forth. Brush off the dust. Walk into your purpose. Embrace life again. Resurrect your dreams.

Remember the days when you were young? So willing to dream big and share those dreams unashamed with the world? You say so much has changed. You've become realistic and practical. And you let your glorious dreams die. If you're anything like me, you don't even think about them that often. Maybe only in quiet moments when something reminds you of the childlike dream you once held close to your heart. A tear may spring unexpectedly to your eye as you quickly brush it off and get busy again with "real" life.

6a00d83451bb0b69e20120a4dc04cf970b 800wi Day 7: Breathing Life Back into Your Dreams Will you go there with me?
Will you open your heart, thaw out your dreams, and if tears spring up, let them come. My heart aches for you and tears are in my eyes as I write. You are not alone. I know how it feels to watch your dreams die and to walk away from the burial place without looking back. I know the pain of grieving for things you once held so close.

Will you stay with me? Will you walk the icy path where you left your dreams and begin the process of breathing life back into them? In turn, they will breathe life back into you. Your dreams will give you purpose and vision and passion. You will find yourself coming alive and experiencing a joy that has been missing. Don't you long for that late at night when you lie in bed wondering how you got to where you are? Let's walk this road together…

Where have you laid your hopes and dreams? Where have you hidden your heart?

Have you already let a piece of you die? There are more deaths than just a physical one, what part or parts of you have you let die?

What have you given up on? What is dead or dying in your life?

Where are you settling for good enough and just getting by?

Today, just focus on today, dream like a child again. Dream big. Dream loud. Dare to dream. Decide today to use the life you've been given. We need your dream. You need your dream.

Thank you for today. One of my forgotten dreams is to focus a little more time on my photography – something I set aside to focus on the dream of getting my business started. There’s still a lot of work to be done – but there always will be. And there will always be the loves of my life as well: my husband, daughter, and my love of watching people, their faces and capturing their expressions on film (digitally).

I love it Angie. I also got your email that you picked up a book to start learning more about your camera. Yay for you. That’s how it all started for me and if you read Day 8 you will see how far I’ve come in a short time.
I can’t wait to see what will begin to happen in your life as you pursue this dream and passion!
