Episode 27: The Original Scrap Box

What I Want For Christmas!

Excuse all the noise in the background of this week’s episode. We filmed this literally as Memory Trends was being torn down around us. I thought this would be a quick and fun show before the holidays. To find out more about this incredible storage solution, visit ScrapBox USA.

We’ll be on holiday break for the next couple of weeks, so look for new
episodes after the new year, including a great two-part episode with
Lisa Bearnson, and a multi-part episode with four great designers,
including Kelli Crowe. You won’t want to miss them!

This is amazing to see on video rather than just a photo in a magazine. Thanks for sharing!

Buyer Beware. My husband ordered me a scrapbox for x-mas on Nov 23, 2007 and he was told that it was in stock and would ship in time for x-mas. Well the months went buy and still no scrapbox. We have been dealing with the company who has very poor communication or customer service skills. I have documented all contact with the company. Since it in now nearly March 2008 and still no scrapbox or attempt to resolve the issue, we have had to contact our credit card company to have the charge reversed and I have contacted the better business bureau of Utah. This looked like the most fabulous way to store my scrapbooking gear, but it has turned into a nightmare for me and my husband.

I bought a scrapbox from the English supplier and we are taking them to court because of the quality of the scrapbox. It was very poor Very disappointed as it is a brilliant idea

Thanks for this information ladies. I’ve been strongly considering buying this item. I’m thinking twice now.

I purchased the Scrapbox for Mother’s Day. It is wonderful. All my supplies fit in the box. The only thing that was disappointing was that the middle sized slots are smaller than a photo box, they looked to be the same size in the video. As to the quality, it is as good as any piece of furniture that you assemble your self. It can’t be solid wood because it would be to heavy to move. The piece weighs over 350 pounds. All in all it is what I expected it to be.

I will start out by saying I investigated every desk and armoire available. I saw the scrapbox on the video & was impressed at the unique design. It was a contender until I finally saw one in person at an expo. Then a friend invited me over to see her new “armoire”. What a downer!! She had to assemble about 90 pieces and ended up with a small card table for a desk and little compartments and plastic bags.
I agree with the previous post-The quality leaves much to be desired-I certainly would not buy one. I did buy a Hobby Hideaway and will never regret it.

I came upon these comments from last year and have to speak up here. I ordered this on Thursday July 2nd which fell the day before the fourth of July weekend, where everyone was off Friday. Well it shipped out on FRIDAY. I had it in PITTSBURGH on Tuesday. The customer serv. was fantastic!! There are not 90 pieces to put together. The containers you store things in flip open and you close the zipper and you can do that as you fill them with items you intend to store. My husband and I put it together in an evening. But he is very smart with putting stuff together which was an advantage. As for the person who said it wasn’t quality wood– well show me any sewing cabinet or sewing desk that is “quality” wood!! I got the vanilla beadboard and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! If you want something by Ethan Allen then go pay 8,000 dollars. This is a very nice piece. And the guy I dealt with was great. I thought I was missing hinges by 3 and called. He immediately said I will post them today. But he then asked me to check the table to see if they were attached already and they were. So no mailing of hinges needed. Plus you get a dvd from them showing how to put together. I have no affiliation with this company and am just a disorganized crafter from Pittsburgh. I should say—a VERY HAPPY soon to be organized crafter. I love this box and intend to order the other see thru desk from them. Judy
